Daniel
White
Daniel White discovered the joys of live music in the mid-90s by attending Dancehall shows up and down Florida's Gold Coast. Following his short and unproductive post-high school tour in the US Navy, he took his
first job at a Tallahassee record store the summer between his first
two years of college. Firmly entrenched in music retail and listening to an ever-widening list of genres, Daniel soon stretched beyond mere show attendance, producing various fringe blues and zydeco festivals. 2003's overwhelmingly positive news coverage of the New York City
blackouts quickly convinced him that The Five Boroughs were the ideal place he moved to
Brooklyn within a year. Establishing his independent production company, Tradecraft, Daniel soon found production work on the large scale--he has worked for the Howl! Festival, the Bushwick Art Project, CMJ Music Marathon and River to River festivals--while also
establishing a reputation by booking indie rock performers Stars Like Fleas, Jaymay, Dan Melchior and others at NYC venues as diverse as the Cakeshop and Monkeytown; he also proudly booked the world tour finale of Chiptune movement darlings Nullsleep and Bitshifter at
Williamsburg's Union Pool. Daniel has been an astute observer of
developing trends in media and a tireless advocate of artists, working as part of La Lutta New Media Collective and partnering with prominent new media publishers to highlight new and emerging artists through unique events and online content. In addition to working as a curator with the Fall Collection, he is currently Production Manager with a major
new media market research firm located in Manhattan. Daniel presently lives in Brooklyn with his six-year-old Dalmatian/Pitbull Sapo and Sapo's pet cat Valentine--who he tolerates despite being a lifelong allergy sufferer.
