Myers
Kevin attended Bowling Green State University on a National Merit Scholarship. In 1997, he graduated with honors, receiving a B.A. in Communications with a dual major in Theatre and Telecommunications. After graduation, Kevin performed with Bridgework Theater in Goshen, Indiana for one season. With Bridgework, Kevin worked throughout the Midwestern United States to bring theatre to elementary and junior high school students that promoted non-violent conflict resolution.
Since arriving in New York City in 1998, Kevin has interned for the Development Manager at Richard Frankel Productions, assisting with work that led to the Broadway production of “Swing!”. Kevin has also served as the Creative Coordinator for Macy’s Annual Events, which include Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular for the City of New York. In that time, he worked with Christina Aguilera, *NSYNC, 98 Degrees, Monica, Jo Dee Messina, Kenny Rogers, Martina McBride, the cast and crew of “Sesame Street” and several Broadway casts, including “Cabaret,” “Annie Get Your Gun,” “Ragtime,” and “It Ain’t Nothin’ But The Blues.”
In 2002, Kevin received a MAC Award as part of the cast of the long-running, award-winning cabaret revue “Indigo Rat” at Rose’s Turn in Greenwich Village.
In 2003, Kevin performed as Mitch Common in DM Theatrics’ “Sugarbaby!”, which has been included in The New York Theatre Experience’s recently published Plays and Playwrights 2004. He also performed numerous roles in Genesis Repertory’s production of “Avenge!” (an adaptation of Thomas Kyd’s “The Spanish Tragedy”) as part of Spotlight Productions’ Spotlight On Halloween Festival.
As a director, Kevin’s credits include Manhattan Class Company’s Summer Play Party in 2000 and 2001. He has also directed sketch comedy and improvisation with ANY Theatre at Gotham Comedy Club and Rose’s Turn.
Thus far in 2004, Kevin has produced the world premiere of Anthony P. Pennino’s “Toby” at the Sanford Meisner Theater for Watchdog Theatre Company.
